Richard Cox Obituary

Richard Steve Cox
November 24, 1942 - March 12, 2021
Modesto, California - Richard was born to parents Clifton Cox and Lorene Hunt-Cox in Sulphur Springs, Texas. He lived in Texas until six years old. His family moved to Shawnee, Oklahoma until age fifteen. He then moved to Lathrop, California to live with his father and stepmother, Louise Cox. He met Shirley A. Long at church in Lathrop, CA and they were married on August 27, 1961. Richard proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force for over 20 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he become a civil servant for both Sharpe and Tracy Army depots. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley. Together they had four children: Steve, Sandy, Raymond, and James. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren with another to soon arrive. He is additionally survived by his sisters Sue Meeker, Barbara Hicks, and Mildred Hunt. He loved being with family and enjoyed a good meal. We were fortunate to have a Godly family man to be our example of how to love. We take comfort knowing he is with the Lord, as well as rejoicing with his mother, father, brothers, sister, and many other loved ones. We love and miss him dearly. We will see him again in Heaven.
-Love your grateful family.
