Richard Sloane COCHRAN Oct. 23, 1929 - Apr. 6, 2005 Richard "Dick" Cochran went home to his Heavenly Father on Wed., April 6, 2005. He died in his sleep at his home in Puyallup. Dick was a true son of Seattle. Born Oct. 23, 1929 to Harold and Jean Cochran of Queen Anne, he grew up in Seattle and attended both elementary and high school on Queen Anne Hill. After graduation, he had various jobs until 1956 when he met and married the love of his life, his wife Dorothy. They moved to the Eastside and settled in Bellevue, where they raised 6 children and were very active members of St. Louise Catholic Church. Dick worked for most of his years at Bearings Inc. in Seattle as a bearing salesman and retired in 1992, having given over 25 years to the company. Dick and Dorothy then moved to Puyallup, WA, and became members of a new church, Holy Disciples Catholic Church. They became very active in the music ministry and grief ministry and enjoyed settling into retirement together. He has also been a past Vice President of the Washington State Chapter of C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors). Dick is preceded in death by his parents, Jean and Harold and his son, Richard Sloane Cochran II (King County Sheriffs Dept.). He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Dorothy and children, Jeffrey, Barbara, Douglas, Ann Marie, Elizabeth, and daughter-in-law Sedonia, their spouses and also many grandchildren who loved him dearly. A Rosary will be said Tuesday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. at Sunset Hills F.H., 1215 145th Pl. SE, Bellevue. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 13, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Louise Catholic Church, 144 - 156th Ave. SE, Bellevue, WA, with a reception immediately following in the parish hall. Burial at Sunset Hills Memorial Park on Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at 3:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Washington State Law Enforcement Officers Memorial or Washington State Chapter of C.O.P.S.
