Reuben Nichols Obituary

My mom who is now 91 was under the care of Dr. Nichols colleague, Dr. Aubrey Mamby @ Medical Associates formerly located @ 3233 S. King Dr, Chicago. All the physicians there were absolutely wonderful and we are so honored to have met Dr. Nichols during that time. Our prayers go out to his family / friends and may he rest in power. Amen.

Just found out about Dr Nichols after watching a commercial for Oak Street Health. I googled him and found out he passed. He was my doctor for over 20 years. He was an excellent doctor. Professional, compassionate and thoughtful. Rest well, Dr. NIchols.

My Doctor since I was 27 years old I am 64 now , I haven't found another one like . RIP Doc

I was VERY shocked to hear about Dr. Reuben T. Nichols, passing;so sorry to hear. I guess sometimes u think People like him would live forever. Dr. Nichols was a superb physician, but more importantly he was a wonderful human being. He will surely be missed as a physician and servant to the South side community. Thank you Dr. Nichols for you did for my family.

I just learned of his passing today, September 7, 2023. Heart broken! Dr. Nichols was truly a good Doctor! I was under his care for 20 years.

Dr. Nichols was the family doctor of the Howard´s of Chicago. He was my grandmother´s, my mother´s, my aunts´ , and at one time, my Primary Care Physician for many years. He possessed a quiet demeanor and a quixotic smile. His bedside manner was second to none. He will be truly missed.

Dr. Nichols was a great physician....good listener and caring provider.....started seeing him in 1996...transferred to Dr V. Phillips in his office in 1998..he was my mom's physician and my partner's physician for more than 20 yrs...up to his retirement...he will be missed.

Dr. Nichols was one of the finest attending physicians that I ever learned under and served under. It is for him that I am now serving as a physician in Ocean Springs Mississippi after completing a one-month preceptor ship in Tylertown Mississippi as a resident. What can you say about a man who wasn't just a doctor, husband, father, grandpa or sibling...but a true, genuine, compassionate soul. Dr. Nick was our family physician for too many years to count and the relationship he had with all of us transcended your typical doctor-patient relationship. If we had a BBQ or birthday party, he was there....everyone was important to him and his kindness extended to ALL who knew him. We know as believers his work on this side of the Jordan was complete, but there will always be a tremendous amount of sadness knowing he is no longer physically here with all of us. To his family, we LOVE you and you have our deepest condolences and sympathies.
