Raymond J., age 87, United States Navy Veteran, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Raymond lived a full and honorable life marked by dedication, strength, and a deep love for those around him. Raymond was the beloved father of Steven, Raymond (Patricia), and Michael (Karen) Pietras; proud grandfather of Jonathan (Jessica), Jason (Sheyanna), Nicole (Matt) Pankratz , Courtney (Dillon) Delaney , Alexander, Steven (Molly), Dylan (Abigail), Taylor, Nathan, Kailey and Cassidy Kopacz. He was also blessed to be a greatgrandfather to Kaylie, Raymond, Waylan, Nayelea, Charlotte, Lucas, Bennett, Emma Pankratz , Grayson and Landen Pankratz, and a great-great-grandfather to Myla Pankratz . His legacy lives on through each of them, carried in their hearts and their memories. Raymond was preceded in death by his son Jeffrey, his sister Jennifer Ludington, his brother Ron, and his parents John and Jennie. He is now reunited with them in eternal peace. A loyal friend to many, Raymond will be remembered for his generosity, his steady presence, and the love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His family takes comfort in knowing he lived a life of purpose, devotion, and honor. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that reflects Raymond's enduring respect and support for his fellow service members. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished. Family and friends will gather for visitation on Saturday 9 a.m. until time of Funeral Service 11:00 a.m. at Palos-Gaidas Funeral Home 11028 Southwest Hwy. Palos Hills, IL 60465.
