I had known Randy back in the late 90s early 2000s. We had lost touch and I was just thinking about him and came upon his obituary. To his family and friends, I am so very sorry. He was truly a unique individual.

Mark and family,
My deepest condolences on the passing of Randy. I, too, worked with him in the Emergency Department at Masonic before we both got on the Fire Department. He was a kind, gentle soul. He only saw the good in people and never had a harsh word for anyone. He will be missed by those in the "real world" but even more so by those of us in EMS. He was a healer, and healers are not suppose to leave this world when there is still work to be done. Again my condolences.

I grew up on the same block and regret not having seen him in recent years. He was always polite and gentlemanly in addition to being very principled and ethical. We could often discuss subjects as diverse as history, politics and philosophy. He will be sorely missed and remains someone I can say I looked up to as a positive example. David Mazovick

I knew Randy from our Schubert school days. We ran into each other over the years and always talked like old friends. Randy was one of the nicest people you could ever know. Both my brother Roy and I both miss him.

I worked in the same Firehouse with Randy and one night while I was on watch, he returned from a call around 2:30am. He was a Spiritual man and we spoke about the Lord for some time. He told me that Jesus Christ was his Lord and Savior. I am filled with joy knowing he went home to be with the Lord. Praise God!

TO THE ORZADA FAMILY,

MY HUSBAND AND I HAVE BEEN GREATLY SADDENED AT THE NEWS OF RANDY'S SUDDEN DEATH. WE'D LIKE TO EXPRESS OUR DEEPEST CONDOLENCES TO HIS ENTIRE FAMILY.
RANDY AND I WENT TO GRADE SCHOOL (SCHUBERT) TOGETHER, KINDERGARTEN THRU 8TH GRADE (CLASS OF '78). HE WAS A SWEET, SOFT-SPOKEN, KIND KID. NEVER IN TROUBLE, AND VERY SMART. I AM VERY PROUD TO HAVE KNOWN HIM... THOUGH, AS IS OFTEN THE CASE, WE LOST TOUCH AFTER GRADUATION. THAT'S WHEN MY HUSBAND MET HIM AT FOREMAN HS. (CLASS OF '82). HE HAD SEVERAL CLASSES WITH HIM FROM FRESHMAN THRU SENIOR YEAR. HE REMEMBERS SEEING RANDY & MARK WALKING TO SCHOOL TOGETHER... AS FOR RANDY, THOUGH THEY WERE ONLY ACQUAINTANCES, HE RECALLS A SMART, QUIET AND GENTLE SOUL.
THE WORLD HAS MOST CERTAINLY LOST AN EXTRAORDINARY PERSON... BUT WE ARE DEFINITELY ALL BETTER FOR HAVING KNOWN HIM. NO DOUBT, THERE NOW IS A VERY SPECIAL ANGEL IN HEAVEN.

I worked with Randy at Illinois Masonic for many years and continued to work with him on the Chicago Fire Dept. Randy was a nice guy. A real good person. Never meant harm to anyone. I will miss his sly look over the top of his glasses, that grin and his laugh. I'll bet he is looking down right now wondering "what happened".
Randy, say hi to Mike for me.

I have known Randy since the early 90's working at Masonic. Randy was truly special. He was the gentlest guy who could always laugh even when the joke was on him. He was always in good spirits and looking to help. The world needs more people like Randy Orzada.
