Ralph Donaldson Obituary

Ralph Vernon Donaldson, 84 of Zanesville, died 4:20 PM Monday, August 20, 2012 at Forest View Health Campus following a short illness. He was born Tuesday, May 8, 1928 in Zanesville, the son Vernon Donaldson and Gertrude Lyons Ankrum and was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. He worked for several local potteries and retired from Ross IGA. He enjoyed woodworking, loved to walk and delivering the Zanesville Advertiser. He was a loving father and grandfather.

Ralph is survived by eight children: Beverly & Joe Kane of Roseville, Linda Freeman of Newark, Dixie & Joe Zigo of Zanesville, Becky & Henry Barnett of Nashport, Robert & Ruth Donaldson of Zanesville, Charles & Jeannie Donaldson of Mentor, Karen & Norval Swingle of Zanesville and Randy & Darla Donaldson of Zanesville; 23 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
In addition to his parents, Ralph was preceded in death by his stepfather: Russell Ankrum; two sons: David and Clinton Donaldson and one grandson: Justin Donaldson and the mother of his children: Beradine Hunt.
Friends may call from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM, Thursday, August 23, 2012 at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue where Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday with Rev. Steve McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park. The family would like to express special thanks to Genesis Hospice for the care and attention give to Ralph.
