R. Jones Obituary

Reidsville - R. Lee Jones, Sr., 86, died Tuesday, June 17, 2003, at his residence. The Tattnall County native had lived in Reidsville most of his life. He was the former owner of Jones Trailer Park in Glennville. He was a retired farmer and a member of Loves Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors: four daughters and sons-in-law, Shelby "Jean" and Lester Slaton of Reynolds, Patsy and Carroll of Pinckney of Claxton, Peggy Munch of Port St. Lucie, FL, Valree and Steve Holton of Reidsville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wasdon Lee and Crystal Jones of Eulonia, Bob and Debbie Jones of Vidalia, Chuck Jones of Sumter, SC; sister, Mrs. Doris Rowell of Reidsville; 12 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews also survive. Visitation: beginning 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, at the funeral home. Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday June 19, at Battle Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Burial: church cemetery. I am so sorry to learn of the passing of Mr. Lee. Many times when I visited the late Albert McCall, we would share our table with Mr. Lee at Smith's Restaurant there in Reidsville.
