Potenciano Varilla Obituary

Varilla, Potenciano "Pat" Petticrew Died peacefully on February 12, 2015 at the age of eighty seven surrounded by his beloved wife, Maria S. (nee Alvarez), family and friends. Pat proudly served his country when he first enlisted in the Army in the last year of World War II and served again in Europe during the Korean War. Pat graduated from Loyola University and later worked at Montgomery Ward, Beverly Bank in Beverly, Illinois and worked as a Security Professional until his death. Pat was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Potenciano Valle Varilla; his mother, Mary (nee Petticrew); his brother, James; and his first wife, Kathleen (nee Hanson). He is survived by his sister, Eileen; three sons and two daughters from his first marriage; and is also survived by his second wife, Maria; and five stepdaughters. He was blessed with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Mass will be held in his honor at St. Anne's Church, 120 Ela Street, Barrington, Illinois 60010 at 10:00 a.m. on March 14, 2015.
