Phillip, please look down on Eduardo as he is presently applying to physical therapy school and is very nervous. He received his Bachelor's in December 2016 and is now hoping to continue with his degree. He was getting discouraged at one point because he doesn't receive any help from FAFSA, but I tell him to keep going because he has a lot of people behind him. Scholarships like the one he received in your honor are what motivate students to keep going. God Bless You and please continue to watch over us. I so wish I would have met you in person. Something in your eyes just gives me peace of mind.

You are always in our thoughts. My son Eduardo Estrada, former STL student and recipient of your scholarship, is now a senior at Concordia University in Forest Park, IL. God willing, he will start Physical Therapy school next year. With you in our thoughts he will too help people in need. My name is Jack Lawlor. I am a Burbank resident and student of St. Laurence. I have been honored as the 2015 recipient of the scholarship your father and his family set up on your behalf. I lost my father when I was only six years old and I miss him everyday. It would of been an honor to meet you and I am extremely grateful for the award.
I was able to take my 90 year old grandfather to a veterans breakfast this year held at Burbank school. It was amazing to meet all the men and women who served our country. My grandfather was the oldest in attendance. It ended up being a very emotional day for all but I couldnt of been prouder than to be standing there listening to stories, hearing the students sing and bring up cards.I've read many of the heartfelt posts because I wasn't quite sure what to say in my thank you to your family.
It is a privilege to earn this award in your honor. I will do my best, work hard to complete my goals and always know your in the thoughts of many.

Today,on July 4, 2011 a Stand and Honor Living Memorial took place in downtown Oswego, IL. 229 volunteers each held a sign with the name, hometown, age and date of death of Illinois' fallen heroes, those who lost their lives in Iraq or Afghanistan. I had the honor today of holding Phillip's sign. May God bless this hero and all the families of these brave men and women.

Cpl. Phillip J. Brodnick's family: It was very difficult for me to find the right words. But do know this, they come from my heart. I learned of Phillip's passing through St. Laurence High School where my son will graduate from in May of 2011. I thank his father for establishing the Phillip J. Brodnick scholarship, which my son is a proud recipient of. As a mother I feel your pain and sadness. There are no words of comfort. What I can say is that Phillip's memory will always be alive in my family. We will always be grateful for your generosity and feel very privileged to have received such a wonderful gift. I am sure my son will work twice as hard to become a fine young man as your son is. I say is because he is alive in our hearts and in our mind. May God Bless you!!
