The world is a much sadder place without Phil. Listening to his early morning golf radio show
on the way to my tee time was the happiest hour of my week.

Kathy and family,
Phil will live on in the memories of all who were fortunate enough to get to know him. He was one of a kind and a man of conviction and pride. Chicago area Golf is definately better because of his devotion and labor. He was a true friend of the Illinois PGA and we are gratful for the time he shared with us. I am sure he is in good hands and if there is golf in Heaven,he'll play and record it !
My sincerest sympathies -

Phil was a good man with many interests in life. He knew many, many people. I enjoyed talking with him as he voiced his issues on everything from sports, broadcasting, to his love of toy trains. We will miss him at the CASG club.

I knew Phil from my sister Mo. Always the life of a party and fun guy. Kathy, thanks for calling Carm and Mo. It meant so much for her to see him. You are all in our thoughts and prayers.

Phil was a working journalist in high school. While people like myself wrote for the school paper, he was getting paid for writing byline stories in the local Citizen Newspaper. He never fit into anybody's cookie-cutter idea about what a journalist should be, but he was always working, right to the end.
Condolences.

Dear Kathy and Family,
I knew Phil for over 18 years and was proud to serve with him on the Illinois Golf Hall of Fame Committee.
Although I didn't always agree with his opinion or point of view, I ALWAYS respected it!
Phil was as knowledgeable a man about local golf as I have ever met. I will miss his writing and miss his unique ability to cover the local golf scene!
Golf, along with his family and friends, has lost a giant. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. I sure hope that Chicagoland Golf and the Illinois Women's Open continue in his absence!

The entire golf population of Chicago will miss you Phil. I had the good fortune of sitting at your table at a Cog Hill golf outing many years ago, you were great and your stories were terrific. I never missed your Saturday morning golf show, Saturday mornings will never be the same. Deepest condolences to the Kosin family.

I got to know Phil while working in the golf industry in Chicago several years ago. No one knew this market better than Phil.
He was a knowledgeable guy and fun to talk to. I will miss his column in Chicagoland Golf.
