Happy Birthday Phil. We miss you sooo much. All Our Love, Diane ,Erin and Maura

My uncle Phil was one of a kind. I will truly miss his laughter and sence of humor that made any situation no matter how bleek seem funny.Uncle Phil was a man who loved his family and who never spoke ILL of anyone.I will always honor his memory and appreciate what he has done for me every day of my life.

In that short week he showed us all his personal and physical strength when confronted with this illness. I would hope to be as strong as my little brother, who was my closest friend and companion. You will always be with me Phil, and your loved ones will go on emboldened by the strength and goodness you sharred with all.

A wonderful man. A Great Uncle.

To the Gavin Family. I am very sorry to hear about Phil. I worked with him a while back before he went to the Park District. He was a great friend and co-worker. He will surely be missed.

He always had a warm smile and a friendly and cheerful demeanor. I can picture him laughing and playing cards at Leona's dining room table. Diane and family, I am saddened to hear the news about Phil. I have some great memories back in the early 90's when he was doing work with me at McGee's. The list of jobs he did with my dad was endless and they always had a laugh in the end. He had a contagious smile. You are in my thoughts today. Kevin Reynolds

Our sympathy and prayers go out to Phil's family and the Gavins. I was best friends with Phil's younger brother Brian in Beverly back in the 70's. I remember big brother Phil well. He always made us laugh.

I had the chance once again to see that smile, and hear his sense of humor. Phil was one of the many nice people I knew from my days working at the Park District.

Phil was such a joy! That red hair, and those blue eyes and that smile, always smiling. Phil made working at the Park District fun! The plumbing shop at Ramp 41 and 39th Street were like a second homes to many!
Ironic I was just going to call him for some plumbing advice.
