Peter Joseph Mikalajunas of Forest Park, born April 20, 1951. Loving husband of Cecily Roland; dearest brother of Joseph (Valerie); fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; beloved son of the late Raymond and Theresa Mikalajunas. Family and friends will be received at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Wednesday, April 7, 2021 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. All to meet Thursday at Our Lady of Sorrows Basilica National Shrine, 3121 W. Jackson Blvd., Chicago for a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass 11:00 a.m. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. For funeral info 708-F-U-N-E-R-A-L.

Joe and Cecily,
My prayers and deepest sympathies go out to you both, and to your families as well. I'm sad to say that I never had the good fortune of meeting or talking with Peter, but hearing the words of others, I know in my heart that he must have been a very kind and patient man. I'm sure he will be remembered by all those who knew him and who have shared in the benefit of having had Peter in their life. Whenever a person like Peter passes on, it challenges all of us to perform acts of compassion and kindness into the lives of all those we come in contact with. You never know what effect one kind word or caring act can have on the people you meet.

My sympathies to your family on the passing of Peter. We became friends in high school at Quigley North. Pete had so many talents. But perhaps his greatest was a willingness to listen to others and practiced the art of empathy. He was someone who made the world a better place and he will be missed.
