Peter May Obituary

May, Peter A. 79, of La Grange, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2017. Reunited in Heaven with his wife of 46 years, the late Marguerite (nee Scott); beloved father of Kevin (Jennie), Kathleen (Andrew) Martens, Susan (Peter) Shaffer, Scott (Angelica) and Melissa (Jeff) Burton; cherished grandfather of Ryan, Taylor and Evan May, Joseph and Patrick Martens, Peter Shaffer Jr. and Ava and Sophie Burton; loving brother of Walter and the late William; special friend of Judith Stahnke; affectionate uncle, cousin and friend to many. Peter was a cancer survivor and avid volunteer for the American Cancer Society CAN, raising awareness and support for cancer research locally and in Springfield and Washington, D.C. Visitation to be held on Tuesday, December 26 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Funeral of Christian Burial on Wednesday, December 27 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., La Grange. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip.
