Peter Klausler Obituary

Klausler, Peter Michael

Peter Michael Klausler, 88 of Berwyn. Died on October 29th 2025. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Therese nee Martinek, his 4 children; Christopher (Tammy), David (Carla), Julie Bertoletti, and Jonathan, his 10 grandchildren; Mathew (Melisa), Nicholas (Faleesha), Sara Ward (Bryan), Emily Wojcik (William), Montana and Clayton Bertoletti (Lexi), Francesca Romano (Julian), Will, Dana and Taylor. As well as his 10 great granchildren; Haley, Gavin, Remi, Ash, Madilyn, Logan, Emilia, Lily, Francesca, Nathan and his brother Tom (Vicky). Born in Glendive, Montana to Alfred and Signe. Peter spent a happy part of his childhood at Fort Snelling, Minnesota where is father enlisted as a Chaplain. After WWII the family moved to Cicero, IL. Peter attended Goodwin grade school, Mortin Highschool and UIC which was located on Navy Pier. He met his future wife when they worked together on the 1955 yearbook as highschool seniors. A part time job printing in the basement of the Christian Century Building introduced him to the trade, which he followed until he retired in 1997 as Manager of Richardson and Edwards Printers.

Peter loved all manner of music, fishing, softball, The Bears, trains, camping, roadtrips and gardening. His love of reading helped teach himself roofing, dry wall plastering, tile, concrete work and carpentry; building bookshelves, cupboards, tables and wooden toys. He was never happier than when he had an axe or a saw in his hand, making wood for his much used fireplace or the wood burning stove at their Northern Wisconsin Farm House.

Dementia robbed him of most of his skills and pleasures, but not his sharp wit and he managed to amuse the staff and residents of the Sheridan-Sunrise, where he spent his last 6 months. He was unique and loved and will not soon be forgotten. He has donated his body to scientific research. No services are planned.
