I am at a loss and am trying to understand how this happy, always laughing man was taken from such a loving, srong and tight knit family.
My brother, sister and I saw Pavlo when we were little at my grandmother's house. My grandfather too, was a priest. Pavlo held him in high regards- that I was not at all shocked to learn that he too , had become a pries.
Pavlo always had a smile on his face when he was young and as he got older. Our families lost touch- but we had fond memories.
May God bless his wife and children and give them strengh in their time of sorrow.
To Pan and Pani Hayda- words cannot express how my family and I feel. To you and your family- may God hold you in his love and grant you peace!

Pavlo will be missed by the multitude in this WORLD whom he enlightened with his smile, words, and laughter. My heart cries out with saddness to all his family, and with delight knowing he will bring the same mischievious joy to ZION!

With sadness and prayer I offer my deepest sympathies to Panyi Hayda and children. Having met Fr. Pavlo and Panyi Hadya through Encounter in October, I was most impressed with their efficiency and incredible hospitality--treating each participant as a friend, another Christ, worthy of honor. Upon attending the Divine Liturgy at St. Joseph, I was most impressed with the Divine Liturgy book Father Pavlo prepared with explanations of each part of the Liturgy. Upon complementing Father on this much needed work, Father then presented me with the full set of Litugical books. I have cherished these, and now even more so, as they were prepared by the hand of Fr. Pavlo through the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit. Fr. Pavlo was truly a spiritual priest for the Light of God shone from his very being, in his appreciation and respect for God's people and his genuine love for God's holy church in the Ukrainian Byzantine tradition. Vichnaja Pamjat!

It was with great saddness that I heard of the death of Fr Pavlo.
At a time during my studies when I was working at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Father Pavlo would stop by and visit and talk during one of his many visits to ill parishiners or to take one of his children to the doctor. We had wonderful conversations of faith and life. My thoughts and prayers go to Fr, his wife and family and to the family of Catholics worldwide who will greatly miss this wonderful husband, father and priest. At a time of great challenge not only within the Ukrainian Catholic Church but the Catholic Church worldwide, Fr Hayda represented all that was right about priestly life. His committment to his faith in both word and action and his boundless generosity of spirit will be long remembered. May he continue his work and ministry for eternity within the kingdom of heaven.

Praised be Jesus Christ!
My condolences and prayers for Fr. Pavel's family, as well as for the everlasting repose of his soul!
If my memory serves me well, I believe that he was also formerly the Pastor of St. Josaphat Church in Munster, Indiana. And there I met him, as I was then living at our Carmelite Monatery just across the street. May God Reward him and comfort his family!

Father Pavlo is now singing gloriously with the Angels in heaven. I am sure my mother is with him as she was during her many years of working in St. Joseph's rectory.
My tears have been shed for his wife, sons, parents and family. Now, my thoughts and prayers are sent to Fr.Pavlo in his new heavenly home of total serenity.

Dear Hayda family…our hearts are broken and we are so saddened by Pavlo’s sudden and certainly untimely death. We so enjoyed Pavlo's playful spirit, his dancing smile and his wit and intellect. While his loss is incomprehensible we know he lives on in the hearts and minds of all those he knew, taught and loved. You are in our thoughts constantly and in our prayers consistently. May the love and peace and presence of the Lord be with you now and in the days and weeks to come.

Please accept my deepest sorrow at the loss of a young & hopeful priest. As Fr Pavlo celebrated the Divine Liturgy on earth, he is now united with the Angels & Saints celebrating the Heavenly Liturgy continually singing the praises of God which he lived.
May the Risen Lord who took human suffering upon Himself on the Cross & transformed it into redemption comfort you & your loved ones and wipe away the tears from your eyes.
"Wherefore we entreat You O Lord our God, Give rest in the bosom of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob to Your servant Pavlo as a priest and our fellow minister who has fallen asleep in the hope of resurrection into life eternal. And as you did appoint him to be a minister of Your Church on earth, so also make him the same at Your heavenly altar, O Lord. As You had adorned him with spiritual honor among men, so also recieve him uncondemned to the glory of the angels. You Yourself had diginified his life upon the earth, in like manner make glorious the exit of his life at his entrance among Your holy saints, and number his souls with all those who from all the ages have been well-pleasing in your sight." May his memory be eternal,Vichnaya Pamyat."

Dear Family of Father Hayda,
Our family just attended a wedding at St. Joseph's two weekends ago and Father Hayda officiated. He was so impressive: knowledgable of the Scriptures and an engaging speaker. He was just wonderful. The news of his death saddens us for his family and the whole congregation. A loss.
Please accept our sympathy.
