(nee Polifka), Marine Corps Veteran, beloved wife of 50 Years to George E. retired CPD, loving mother of George CPD (Donna) Owen, John CPD (Jenine) Owen, Roseann Owen and Paula Owen, fond grandmother of George, Erik, Matthew, Scott, Brittany and Tyler, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Funeral Friday, 9:45 AM from the WOLNIAK FUNERAL HOME, 5700 S. Pulaski Rd. to St. Nicholas of Tolentine Church for Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Dear George Owen, and Family- We are very sorry to hear about Paulette's passing. She was a truly wonderful person. Although we haven't been in touch as much as we should have in recent years, any time her name was mentioned a smile would come to our faces. My dearest Paulette,
You and I were not only first cousins, but also best friends growing up. We lived in Grandma's apartment building and saw each other every day.
On your first day of school,I was holding your hand and telling you not to be afraid. I introduced you to the Nun who would be your teacher.
Remember that we had the first TV in the neighborhood, and you would come over every night and we would watch even the test patterns.
You and I would go to the Illington Theater together to see movies.
Too soon, we both grew up and got married. I also remember taking movies of your wedding.
It had been many years since we spoke to each other, and I felt fortunate to be able to speak to you last week.
We discussed our childhood memories at length. Who knew that you were saying your last good-bye?
