Paula Jones Obituary

Jones, Paula K.

Paula K. Jones of Evanston, IL exited the material world on February 21st, 2021. The world has lost a true non-conformist, loving mother, passionate gardener, and cook that adopted vegetarianism long before it became fashionable. Always filled with inspiration, she expressed herself artistically through sewing, painting and drawing. She was thrifty and inexhaustibly creative. Those that remember Paula know she was feisty, funny, fearless, and cantankerous, willing to express herself without a shred of approval-seeking or sycophancy. She was also genuine, loving, giving, and nurturing. She was an animal lover that frequently donated to charity. She found spiritual guidance and solace in the teachings of Gandhi and Martin Luther King Jr. Paula was born in Glendive, Montana to Alfred and Signe Klausler. She donned multiple guises across her career: stay-at-mother, entrepreneur (folks from Evanston/Rogers Park will remember Paula's bread), and hard driving office manager. As a young woman, she travelled alone across Europe. She enjoyed camping and being outdoors, with little regard for comfort. Paula crossed racial boundaries of the 1960's to marry Donald C. Jones with whom she had her daughter, Winifred and her son, Aleksandr. She is survived by the aforementioned, her brothers Peter and Tom Klausler, her grandchildren Sophia, Celeste, and Eliana, and her familiar, Arjuna the cat. The ashes from her physical body will be buried at Calvary Cemetery.
