Paul Pocus Obituary


Pocus Sr., Paul Peter 86, of Aurora, passed away September 28, 2005, at Provena Mercy Medical Center, in Aurora. Paul was born October 17, 1918, in Aurora, IL, the son of Stanley and Josephine (Chapus) Pocus. Paul was united in marriage to Dorothy M. Masden on August 9, 1943, at Holy Angels Church in Aurora. Paul was the owner of Pocus Motor Sales for over 53 years, a car business that began with the sale of Packard, then Studebaker and finally Mercedes Benz automobiles. Paul served during WWII. He was a member of Holy Angels Church, the American Legion and the Aurora Moose Lodge. Since his retirement at age 75, he has pursued his love of fishing at his part-time residence in Palm Coast, FL. Paul is survived by his son, Dr. Paul (Karen) of Oakbrook, his daughters, Cheryl of Chicago and Polly (Steven) Gonzalez of Aurora, two grandchildren, Sarah and Paul Gonzalez of Aurora, step-grandchildren, Mandy (Dan) Springer of Yorkville and Steven Gonzalez Jr., of Aurora, a great-grandchild, Ethan Springer and a long time companion Nita Starinsky of Palm Coast, FL. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy, his sisters, Louise and Ellen and his brother, Frank (Helen) Pocus. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2005, at 9:15 a.m., from The Healy Chapel, to Holy Angels Church, Lancaster and Hardin, Aurora, for a 10 a.m., Mass. Visitation will be held Friday, September 30, 2005, from 3 to 8 p.m., at The Healy Chapel, 332 W. Downer Place, Aurora. Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Aurora.
