Paul Madison Obituary

Madison, Dr. Paul C.

Father, Physician, and Coach

Dr. Paul C. Madison, 68, passed on Saturday, January 22, 2022. A native of the South Side of Chicago, Paul was born to Dr. Earl W. and Leola Madison. He graduated from Brother Rice High School, where he excelled in academics and basketball. He then took his talents to Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he continued his basketball career and earned a B.S. in Science. He also was a proud member of the Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity.

He received his medical degree from the Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University and then completed his residency and a fellowship at the University of Chicago Medical Center. One of his greatest joys was serving his patients and community as a physician in Michigan City, IN and Chicago, IL.

Paul was a devoted father and coach. On August 31, 1991, he married his beautiful wife, Karla. Soon after, Paul and Karla welcomed two daughters, Lena and Jade, into the world. Sports were a huge part of the Madison family's life. Although Paul maintained a busy schedule to meet his professional obligations, he rarely missed his daughters' sports events. He also made time to be an assistant basketball coach at local high schools. Lena and Jade credit their signature basketball moves to their dad, which include the "Hook Shot" and the "Euro Step," respectively. He was incredibly proud to see his daughters compete as Track & Field scholar-athletes for the University of Notre Dame Fighting Irish and Michigan State University Spartans.

Paul was preceded in death by his older sister, Sharon I. Madison, and his parents Dr. Earl W. and Leola Madison. He is survived by his older brother, Earl S. Madison, his former wife, Karla K. Madison, and their two daughters Lena and Jade Madison, as well as numerous relatives.

Paul's family and friends will remember his fighting spirit and eternal optimism in both good times and bad times. His fraternity brothers will remember him as "Big Fun" and uphold their collective legacy of brotherhood. His daughters will continue to honor him by further building happy, successful lives with their loved ones and giving back to their communities. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Due to Covid-19 concerns, celebration of life services will be held outside by his daughters this coming summer. Further details will be provided at a later time

A most amazing man who will be deeply missed and never forgotten by those who knew him. My life will be forever blessed and enriched thru knowing him. May the angels bring strength and peace to his family; especially his daughters who he lived so dearly and was extremely proud of.

Longtime patient of Dr. Paul. When I seen him in early to mid 00's he was a good caring Dr. With good intentions and always looked out for his patients even when he caught slack. He Always took a minute to talk about his daughters and their College careers. I know things got rough for him in later years but hope he has found peace and my thoughts and prayers for his family.

My deepest sympathies to the Madison Family. This is such a heavy loss to us all. I can sympathize with his daughters on losing their Father. Dr.Paul was a good friend to my Father, Mark Chineworth. During my last in person interaction with Dr.Madison, he referenced a portion of the eulogy I delivered at my Fathers funeral and gave me major props...he said "that´s what it´s all about, man. You did your Father proud"
That meant a great deal to me to hear that from him.
Now, they rejoice together in the house of the Lord for all of eternity.

Til we meet again.

Oh jeez where do I start. To the Madison Family, Doc Madison was one of the best men I have ever known. Losing my father at a young age, he took on that father role and would talk to me for hours and everything and anything. His passing was so unexpected.. it´s devastating to say the least. I´m honestly at a loss for words. Please if you guys need anything at all, I will always be here. For anyone that was part of Doc will forever have a special place in my heart.

Rest easy up there, Doc.
Love always
Kristi

Dearest Madison Family,
Memories of Dr. Paul C. Madison will forever live in the heart and minds of all who ever truly knew him personally. Paul gave it all he had to give it. He accomplished much and helped many.
It's impossible for any individual to be everything to everyone all of the time or for any one to get everything right all of the time. Few have chanced the Rainbow with the vimy and vigor that My Bro., Paul C. Madison did and fewer yet have demonstrated what being a member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc is to 'Acheivement' in such the spirit as our forever beloved Bro., Paul C. Madison.
Paul, My. Bro., until we meet again, I am gonna miss you man
Rest In Blessed Peace Bro !
Yours In The Bond,
MW
