Patrick Lyons Obituary

Dear Family: It is Saturday morning in Tempe Arizona, where I am planning to attend the First Holy Communion of our grandchild, Peter Hillebrand. My brother Don emailed me that Paddy had died. I am sorry to hear that, since I know that he was an important member of the Lyons family. One of my most, in fact, the most, important memory of Paddy occurred shortly after my sister, Betty Jean died tragically. He spent an hour or two with me talking about our lives and was a great comfort to me, at a time of sorrow. I add my prayers to all of yours that he had a happy death.

Hi Barbara, Remember me, from Chgo. Ridge? We had some good times together, and I'm sorry to hear of your loss. The name of the game is to keep busy! I lost Dick almost 10 years ago.Sorry I couldn't be with you today, as I had another service to attend.

Years ago Pat made a tape recording of a gathering of our parents at Auntie Bea O'Grady's house. Patrick gave a copy to Kitty Bishop who was kind enough to give me my own copy. Patrick's thoughtfulness has given me the pleasure of reliving the memories of some of those gatherings-especially the voices of my parents and the rest of the family that Came Over. It may seem like a small thing to recall but I will forever appreciate Pat for his forsight in preserving a happy gathering of our parents. I'm sure they have all have come together and welcomed Patrick in joining them in Eternal Peace.

I just wanted to let you know that in all the years since I have been in this family Uncle Pat has always made me feel like a family member not just an in-law. He always makes a point to say hello, if I did not get to him first. He is a wonderful person, and it shows in his children & grand children. Iknow you all love him so dearly. He will always be with you, and you have all those memories of him. i know he is up their keeping everyone busy with his stories. I can see Chrissy up their with him smiling so big & laughing with him. He will be very muched missed. I hope you will call if you need me. I know your part of your lives are gone now & will never come back, but know your family is here loving & thinking of you. We are all here to help you on your journey.
