Dear Pat,
It has taken me so long to sit down and finally express myself. I have come to this site several times and I have even tried just writing a letter. But today I read all the wonderful things that people express, I cried and laughed. Which is basically how this past year has been. We all get together and talk and of course you are one of our main topics. We all love hearing all the great stories over and over. After an eveing with friends and family, Tim and I will go home and the first thing out of Tim's mouth is "I still feel like Pat is going to walk through the door, I feel like I'm always waiting for him to just walk right in." Tim has been saying that since day one. Last year July when we stopped by was one day we will never forget and will cherish always, we didn't say it but we all knew it was goodbye. I cry everytime I think about what Tim said when we got in the car, "I know that was the last time I will shake Pat's hand but he will always be with me in my heart" Tim and I were extremely happy you met our Danny because now Tim enjoys telling Danny about you. We have your picture in our home, a perfect reminder of a great man. One more thing, Pat, thank you for the visit, you made me so at ease and I was able to help Tim and be strong for him.
We love you always

Mary, Patrick, and Ryan,
There is not a day that goes by that we don't think of Pat and miss him terribly. It's hard to believe it's been a year since his passing. And even though we can't see him we know he's here guiding and protecting us.

To the Crowley Family:
It did not seem that long ago when Pat left this world but it is the one year anniversary of his passing today. He was truly a special person and is thought of often. We do not have to look very far to find a reminder of Pat because I see him and the strong resemblance in his sons Patrick and Ryan. Mary, you are a pillar of strength and I wanted to let you know that we will be thinking of you and your family on this date. Hoping you have a day filled with many happy memories!

Dear Pat, my husband and best friend. I am grateful for the day I met you. I fell in love with your kind heart and gentle ways. I remember when we were engaged, my father told me that he would never have to worry about me, that I would be in good hands,, and taken care of forever. He was right. Even though I lost you here, I know you are watching over me and the boys forever. You loved me more than I ever thought dreamed possible.I miss the tremendous love you had for me. You were my rock, in my eyes you were the smartest and strongest man. You had the asnwer to every problem, and you were determined to do whatever you put your mind to. Everyone came to you to solve there problems, and you always helped, you were the caretaker to many. I remember how hard it was for you to be taken care of when you became ill, it was not natural for you you were the most independent person I ever met.
I wish that i can go back to the year of 2004. What a wonderful year! It was such a happy year, our trip to Florida was so special and romantic., we were closer than ever, and you were with me and ok.If it was possible to go back in time, I would treasure every minute with you!! I loved all of our Mondays together, it was so nice once you did not have to work over time any more, and we had that time together. I wish with all my heart that we were able to have a remission time to be able to live like every day was a gift to us, and live with the insight and spirituality we gained through our experience.
I appologize for not accepting your turn for the worse, but I could not imagine losing you, it seemed impossible to stop fighting for your life, you know how I never wanted you to feel hopeless. I am thankful that we had so much support from our family and friends, that I was able to be with you all of the time. You asked me to never leave you alone, and I was able to promise to always be with you. You were such a nice person to everyone even when you were not feeling good. Every doctor and nurse were so fond of you, all the nurses loved to take care of you. I can remember you thanking our family and friends even in the final days when they helped you. I have such a hard time when i think about those final days.
Last July 11 I lost you here on earth, but I know that you are watching over the boys and I, still taking care of us. I can feel it. Sometimes when I can not find the answer, and I stop ,think of you, and listen, you show me the way. A doctor once told me that one of the gifts our loved ones give us when they leave this earth, is knowing that there is a heaven. I guess that is why I am so much less afraid this past year.
You were a wonderful father to the boys, always putting us first. You sacrificed so much for us.You taught them to care for family, and to work hard in life. You asked me to take care of our babies and I promised I would. Please always guide me.
Thank you for all of your unconditional love, care ,gentleness, and selflesness. You grounded me, and made me a better person. I beleive we were a gift to each other, just as God intends us to be. I wish you were here to hold ,love, and grow old with. I get sad when I think of having grandchildren with out you.I miss your hugs, I remember when we were at macneal and you were going for your first test, everyone was at my fathers funeral, I was all alone, with out you holding me,making me feel better, until Rich came, and held me, I knew then how much I relied on you to make everything better for me all these years.
I guess it is time to say good bye now, or as we would say every night, Good night, Sweet dreams, I love you
Mary,
You are always in my heart!

Pat, I can't help but think of you today. Time passes, days end, but yet I can still see you so vividly. Many people have kept their promises to you to look after your family, and I know you smile down on that. Today, especially today, we miss you so very much.

This is a diificult week, remembering all that took place just a year ago. Having said that, the year flew by, I guess that just means we are that much closer to being reunited. My family continues to feel the emptiness of losing you. I pray for and to you daily. I live in regret for missed opportunities we had and missing the chances to tell you more often how much you meant to me. Know that you are loved and missed. Jay

I would like to share a story, that tells so much about the relationship between Pat and Patrick this past year. Last year in June, Pat was dealing with an atrial flutter , and started to get symptoms of what seemed to be an infection. We called the Doctor, and she prescribed an anti biotic for the night. It was about 11:00 on a Sunday evening, and Patrick was out with friends. Pat called him on his cellphone, explained the situation, and Patrick said he would pick up the prescription on the way home later. Pat then said, "do you think you can get the prescription, and come home now, I would just feel better knowing your here." He said sure Dad, cut his evening short with his friends, and came home to be there for his father. It was such a special moment.I was greatly touched, at the way their roles were reversed, when Pat was feeling bad. Then I knew that even though my husband shoes are extremely big to fill, my son is able to.
Patrick always keep this in mind. You are your father's son, and I am proud of you for being there for Dad. Love Mom

What can I say my father, you are my complete inspiration, and you have raised a respectable young man as you were. I know you were present at the wake when I gave you my tribute, and if you could have seen the tear role down my cheek when I bowed my head to the cascet you would be forever proud. I sincerly wish you could have seen Ryan and I graduate college, get married, and also hold your grandchildren, but God had other plans. I am forever greatful for the many sacrifices you made for us all, and putting yourself through many hard ships to help us live comfortably. it is impossible to fill such large shoes as yours, but I will do my best. I will hold your ethics and morals close to my heart, and forever in my mind. I will cherish the thousands of memories I shared with you these eighteen plus years. And I am convinced that we will meet again someday. You continue to be my motivation to succeed day in, and day out. I gladly acept your responsibilities, and I will forever care for Mom and Ryan as you would. Hold your head high where ever you may be, your legacy lives on through me, I promise you that. I will love you forever, as your eldest son.

It has been almost a week since Pat passed and I still can't comprehend it. Pat and I are brother in laws and I have spent so many years spending time with him and his family. His kids and mine act just like brothers, always making jokes and giving them grief, the way it should be.Pat, you and I could talk about everything and for that I thank you. I will miss you dearly and I will keep my promise that I made to you at the Lake House, hold me to it.

Police Officer's Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Almighty Commander of the Watch, Watch over me all those sworn to defend the public good.
Keep me focused on my mission to protect the citizenry of our fair city, and zealous in my endeavor to pursue the criminal element, and assist those in need.
As I travel on the dark streets and into alleys where the shadow of death resides, Make my constitution strong, my courage deep, and unending.
Help me to maintain a strong body and clean heart, For I realize that having one without the other is begging failure.
Show me compassion, and channel Your goodness through me, For I know there are those who need my help and understanding.
Allow me not to become hardend by the ways of the wicked,But keep me in awe of Your works, and able to walk in wonderment upon this Earth.
Finally, Dear God, at the end of my watch, welcome me into your arms with love you hold in reserve for those that serve others.
May St.Micheal walk with me to the gates of paradise, where St. Peter, Your Desk Sergent, calls the roll. May he speak my name and pass me lovingly into the Kingdom of Heaven.
These things I ask, Father, and in your mercy, grant me the strength to continue Your work, for I know that you have saved a place for me,and all my brothers and sisters.
Amen
Godspeed Patrick

To The friends and family of Pat Crowley
My Condolences go out to your family and his collegues. I would like to say that I remember Pat was always a kindred spirit. He had a quiet unassuming quality about him. He also was always quick with his wit. The one word I could describe him in the eight years I knew him would be kind. I had the pleasure to go to work everyday at the old Citgo gas station in the nineteen eighties and early ninties and watch the bond of these young men flourish. Rich, Curt, Scott, Rick just to name a few all worked as a team. I finally understood the brotherhood all these men shared together. May you all find peace and comfort in the upcoming days, weeks and years ahead. As I read all the passages from people who loved him he touched a great number of hearts and was a true hero to all of you and in life. Please accept my deepest sympathies. God Bless. Sincerely,
Lisa L. Riley

what does one say about a good friend who will be missed not only by his family but friends and co-workers as well words do not express the thoughts and concerns of a friend or family in pain, sometimes comforting words can be said to soothe the loss and wipe way the pain, its always appreciated and comforting too. its a sad thing when a loved one dies, and tramatic too. To family and friends,
I met Pat only once. This past April, I dropped off some proofs of a cover page for the M-CAT unit at The Indian Head Park Police Department. Lance Karesh introduced me to Pat. Pat led me into his office and casually 'shot the breeze' with me for nearly two hours. I quickly came to the conclusion that he was a very kind and easy going human being. I told him that in my opinion there should be more police chiefs like him - because he didn't have an ego and he seemed very down to Earth. He replied, ever so casually: "Well, it is what it is." Having previously worked in law enforcement for a number of years, I have never known or met a single police chief as down to Earth and as sincere as Mr. Crowley was. I extend my deepest condolences to all of his colleagues, friends and family and I pray that he is comfort and in peace with the Lord in Heaven.
