Patricia Witteveen Obituary

I'm very sorry to read that my cousin Patti has passed away, she was the cousin I never met, although I did get to meet her brother Bill when he visited Canada with his dad, my uncle Bill, many years ago. My mother Marion was Bill's sister, she passed away in 1985. My only real memory of cousin Patti was receiving her lovely hand -me - down teenage outfits, mailed to me by my Aunt Mary when they lived in Oak Park. It was always a fun experience when these packages arrived , and I really appreciated receiving them. I'm sorry we never met, Patti sounds like she was a wonderful person. Roberta Thomas.

Pat was a very sensitive leader of our Small Christian Community and will be sorely missed. We will remember your Mom with monthly masses here at St. Marks. Our group (your Mom's flock) will always continue to understand the true msg. from God though scripture and know that she is likely still watching over us. Was also very touched by the story of the leprecaun priest you met at Shands who shared the rosary.

Roger and I send our sincere sympathy on the loss of your mom. I met Pat(as she told me to call her and stop calling her "Patti" on the first day of first grade and we went all through school together. Then there was the "poker club" which started when we were all newly married. So we have many fond memories of your mom. She was a strong woman of great faith which got her through rough times. She was so proud of all of you and you will always be a part of her.

Your Mom was a wonderfully faith filled and classy lady! She loved you all so very much and expressed it many times!

To the Witteveen Family, my sincere sympathy to you all. I have so many wonderful memories of your mom, truly a great lady. One memory I have comes from CCD class at St. Lukes. She taught us the story of Jesse Owens and used it as a tool to remind us that we are all one, regardless of race, creed or color. I will tell that story to my son Remi some day when he is of an age to understand it. Rest in peace Mrs Witteveen.

Heard of Pat's passing today in church. I remember Pat being there for me many years ago when I lost my mother. My God be with you all.

To my cousins- My heart is broken. So many memories of your mom are part of my life. I looked up to her and was thrilled to be her flower girl and watch her "mother" you all when you were little. I cried when your siblings and dad died and delighted in her pictures and letters about you when you were older. Her sudden departure was a shock for us and a blessing for her.
