Well my Popo, I made it through my first year without you. I believe what I've done thus far is what you would have wanted and expected your "Tweekie" to do. Everyday I am reminded of the honor (and responsibility) that comes with being your daughter; I carry that legacy with pride!!!
Happy Resurrection Day and rest well my dear Daddy.
Your one and only,
Lynda

A Father & Husband Prayer
Please God Forgive a Silent Tear,
A constant wish that he was here.
Others were taken, yes I know, but
He was mine and I love him so.
He bid no one a last farewell,
nor even said good-bye.
He was gone before I knew it,
and only God knows why!
If all the world were ours to give,
I'd give it all and more, to see that,
loving face of his just once more!
To those who have a husband, father,
son or brother, treasure him with
care, for you never know his value,
"Til you see his vacant chair.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.
Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."
It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."
God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.
When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.
I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.
There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.
If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.
So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.
And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.

Dear Lynda:
You and your family have my most heartfelt sympathy in the passing of your father, Otis. I remember you Dad as a very kind, caring and generous person. I have very fond memories of him bringing you to my Aunt's house...for parties and playtime.
I also remember him as a very good citizen. He would always help me with community outreach when I called on him. I was always proud to state that I knew him.
He will be missed.
Love Always

He was not just a friend, but as all who knew him, a very caring individual who expressed an interest in everything one had to say and do. May your memories and the kind words of others help you during this very sad time.

"Tis a time for every season". But there is never a season to say good-bye. So we will not say good-bye dear Otis, for you will always be remembered in the hearts of those you touched. Whether a broken pipe or a broken heart, you were always there. If indecision was going east or west, you always knew what road to walk. If no one listened, you always heard. Your compassion, your understanding, your strength and most of all your smile will be so dearly missed. You were always there for so many people. Thank you for sharing and giving us so much of yourself. You will live on in our hearts and will always be remembered with gratitude and love.

Good,Good...Goodbye...Dear Uncle/Father,(only for now.)I know that you know, that I know, and Lynda knows, all that you taught us. You were so very wise, and thru your wisdom...oh so funny. Me too, thanks to you. Lynda's pretty funny also, and wise. We listened. One of my favorite quotes from you...teaching me of the ways of the world..."Does not a bear boo-boo in the woods?" Yes, my Dear Uncle, bears are "still"...boo-boo-ing. Your spirit will always and forever...echo in my heart, mind and spirit.
Tell my daddy, Conrad, hello. I can

My condolences to Otis's family. I met Otis at O'hare Field Detail 1970. He was one of the first men to welcome me and help me in those first days of assignment. I always enjoyed talking and laughing with Otis. He was a kind and gentle man who carried a big stick when it was needed. God Bless you and I am glad your pain and suffering are now over. Amen

My Popo, my Daddy, my best friend. Yesterday I spent most of my 50th birthday reflecting on many of the countless memories we've made. Your strength and determination always amazed me my Daddy, so perhaps that is why I thought you'd never leave. Even in those final days you somehow managed to find enough strength to make me laugh, tell me how happy you were to have me by your side and most of all how very much you loved me. I am so proud to have been "your baby" and grateful to God for every moment we shared. I will love you and "remember" eternally.
Your one and only,
Lynda (Tweekie)
