Having been Mr. B's secretary for 10+ years I have many many fond memories of his wisdom and wit. He was a brilliant man and I'm sure his friends in heaven were happy to welcome him. My best to Mrs. B.

I was at one point married Carl (Rip) Beattie and met the family many years ago. While Orville is gone he will never be forgotten at least by one of the past Beattie's.
God give you peace in your time of need.

Dear Mrs. Beattie, It was a learning experience working at the Benjamin-Beattie Galleries, knowledge that I still use today in the different capacities of art that I encounter. My deepest sympathy to you and your family. Mr. Beattie will be fondly remembered.

I was hired with A. S. Hansen in 1975. I remember that Mr. Beatty (or 'OCB' as all of us called him) always wore that red vest at the Hansen holiday party. He always seemed to have a smile and a twinkle in his eye. Please accept my sympathies.

I worked for Hansen from 1960 until the sale to Mercer in 1987. The first 11 years were in Lake Bluff at the time Carl was Chairman. I worked with him on several clients, but my favorite memories were when we bowled on the same ASH-sponsored team at Lake Forest Lanes. We won the league championship, but the trophy was not big enough, so Carl went into his own pocket to get a bigger one suitable for display in the office lobby. Don Brothers hated it!
My condolences to your family.
