I am so saddened to hear of this loss to your family.
Omar was my first ever "boss" directly out of undergraduate school and I immensely enjoyed working with him, as well as learning from him. He was an inspiration to me both professionally and personally -- I became an avid skier likely due to his influence!
I recently re-connected with Omar after many years and enjoyed corresponding with him. His attitude seemed so positive and an inspiration to others with Cancer. I truly expected to connect over lunch, but regret this never transpired. He will truly be missed.

I knew Omar through my employment at Market Facts. I'll always remember his friendly demeanor and our exchanges of "Labas Rytas" (Lithuanian for 'good morning') each morning when we saw one another. Omar will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

My thoughts and prayers are with you, his family and friends. I knew Omar when we both worked at Market Facts. I've known few people of Omar's talent in research, wit, love of life and genuineness. I'm fortunate to have known him.

I am saddened to lose a "new" friend. I had just met him because of shared meetings between out churchs (St. James & Lithuanian Home). He mentioned that he was battling disease but never let it be other than an inconvenience. He was more concerned about the future of his church and ways to help others and share the love of our shrared Christian beliefs. He will be missed and I wish had known him longer as he was inspirational to me.

I worked on several projects with Omar at Market Facts in the early 70's. When he found out I lived in Beverly Shores, IN, he asked about my passport. Then he explained that Beverly Shores was popular among Lithuanians because of its coast line. He told me that one of the few taverns in town was named the Nida, after an area on the Baltic coast. I learned a lot with and from Omar. I will remember and cherish his sense of humor.

Omar was a kind, inspirational soul to those of us who were priviledged to work with him at Market Facts.
His spirit will always live among those of us who had the pleasure to know him as a friend, co-worker and mentor.
Omar, you will be missed.
Love,

My name is Susan Linse and I knew Mr. Bendikas through my employment at Market Facts. He was, in fact, very helpful in beginning my 19 year career with the company. I first met him in 1981 when he was visiting a client - Western Publishing Company in Racine - and I was a college senior with an internship there. Months later, after graduation, I contacted him and he was kind enough to pass my name to the appropriate people.
I remember him fondly, always with a smile and a kind word for those around him. He was very well-respected by his peers.
My sympathies for your loss.
