Obgu Kalu Obituary

It is with great Sadness to see you go,but God knows best.You have been an Inspiration to many,both Young and Old.My Heartfelt condolence goes to the Family,my message to them is to be Strong,be rest assured that he is in Heaven now with our Lord Jesus,Looking Down at us.

A great friend has passed away; Oga, your friends at Regent-Ghana are still wondering whether this is indeed true..., whether indeed you are gone, forever, never see you in Ghana again? Are't we going to see you again on our campus this year? What about the unfinished business, our Centre for Pentecostal and Charismatic Studies? Hmm, words are inadequate to express our shock and consternation but our consolation is that the multitudes of people you invested in academically will continue to testify of your good deeds, deeds we will never forget. You have been taken away from us, but we will never forget you. We know we will meet again; in the interim, we are consoled as we all, by his grace, wait and prepare for that great day, the day when the King of the universe, the Risen Saviour ' "... will wipe every tear from [our eyes]. [When] there will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, [when]the old order of things [will] pass away." ' (Rev. 21: 4). Shalom!

May God's peace and comfort be with the Kalu family and friends, far and near. Thank you, Professor, for inspiring and helping many. Your loving nature and laugh warms us still.

To live in the hearts and minds of those you love, is not to die. You live on.

I pray that God will grant the entire family of Kalu, and the children of Prof. Ogbu solace and comfort for the great loss.

To Dr. Wilhelmina Kalu,

You have my deepest sympathy on the loss of your beloved husband Dr. O. Kalu. I am keeping you and your family in prayer. While I did not get a chance to meet your husband, I know that he was an important part of your life and that of your family. Because of this he will forever be in your hearts and memories. May God give you strength during the days and months that lie ahead.

While we join you in this season of grief,we ask that our Father in heaven comfort your family with his peace, grace and love.

To know a man Like Prof. is a rare privilege and we consider ourselves privileged to have learnt the rudiments of family, faith and fulfillment from this great man. To the family we beseech you to take solace in the fact that these "treasure in earthen vessel" sauntered your way and is now at rest in the bosom of the Lord.

I received with shock the news of the death of Uncle. Its particularly sad because I had been hoping to write him an update on my work and to appreciate his help during my formative years, I guess I will never get the opportunity again. To the family, I pray that God's peace be with you in these difficult times.
