"Uncle Norman" was a long-time friend and he and Dorothy were my saving grace in my first years as a "Baldwin Cooke" wife. I am so sorry to hear of his passing and send my prayers and sypmathy to all. I will remember him always with great love and affection.

Norm was a born teacher and great example of a loving husband and father. Dorothy & Norm were neighbors and long, longtime friends of my parents. BUT, I always felt a special connection with Norm because when I was a mere child he treated me as a real person and not just a kid. I loved his magic tricks, stories and how he seemed interested in my life. I credit him with getting my first job at the University of Chicago (right out of college). He wrote such a wonderful letter of recommendation that they had to hire me! In the Jewish tradition a high honor is to call someone a "Mench" and that is what Norman was. He will be missed by all those who loved him. My sympathy to his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
