Norman Marcovitch Obituary

Marcovitch, Norman Age 87, formerly of Chicago, passed away November 8, 2011, at his home in Laguna Woods, CA after a courageous five-month battle with cancer. Preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, of 38 years, Norm was truly blessed to find love twice in his lifetime when Phyllis Matzkin entered his life 12 years ago. Norm was a part of the "can do" NASA effort that would successfully send three Apollo 11 astronauts to the moon and return them safely to earth. At age 80, while golfing with his son, Ben, Norm hit his one and only hole-in-one at Laguna Woods Par 3 Golf course. He will be greatly missed. Survived by Phyllis Matzkin, sister Alice Lakin, children Holly (Howard) Gordon, Sid (Debra) Marcovitch, Ben (Rollie) Marcovitch, grandchildren: Michael (Adrianne) Gordon, Zach (Eve) Marcovitch, Samantha Marcovitch, great-grandson Asher Gordon. Services have been held. Donations can be made to the ALS Association, Orange County Chapter. ALSAOC, 1232 Village Way, Suite A, Santa Ana, CA 92705.
