Dear Maher Family,
I just recently learned of Noreen's passing and I am so very sorry. She and I were roommates my last year at IBC. She was a year behind me. She was such a wonderful and caring individual. I can't believe I let myself lose touch with her and now I can't even tell her that. I can't get her passing out of my head and heart. It just seems so unfair that such a beautiful and kind person should be taken from us. Please know that I will always remember her and all the fond memories at IBC.
Love,
Karen (DeGroot) Griffin

Dear Maher Family,

I just learned of your loss today and I am so very sorry. I have such fond memories of dances and conferences and camping trips with Noreen who never let me feel left out even though I was the youngest. Noreen, or "Snore", like we called her, was a kind and beautiful woman, and although we had lost touch through the years, we would occasionally see each other and each time it was as if no time had passed.

I pray that you all feel the comforting, healing arms of the most merciful God around you, and find peace and rest in the knowledge that Noreen is dancing with Jesus.

God Bless.

Maher Family:
I recently learned of Noreen's passing and I am so sorry for your loss. I met Noreen in college when she would come knocking on our door late at night asking us to keep it down. We formed a friendship that has lasted through the years and she will be greatly missed. She was a very kind, loving and generous person. The last time that I got to see Noreen was the end of February. She drove to my parents house in the middle of a terrible snow storm because she felt bad that she wouldn't be able to make it to my baby shower the next day. I never thought that would be the last time I would see her. My prayers are with you.

Dearest Maher Family,

My daughter, Jennifer Porter, attended IBC with Noreen. It was on Noreen's birthday that John called Jennifer with the sad news.

We are devastated to learn that this dear, sweet woman is gone. Noreen came to many celebrations at the Porter house: Halloween parties, birthdays, baptisms, showers -- it was always so special to have her there. Her warm presence, quiet beauty and laughter touched everyone.

Please know that you are being prayed for. I offered my Sunday Mass yesterday for, and prayed to Noreen -- our new Saint in Paradise. May you be comforted knowing she is at peace.

God's blessings and love,
Diane Kauffman

To Noreen's family and friends, I was so saddened to hear of your loss. I worked with Noreen at Morgan School for several years. She was such a loving and dedicated teacher to her little children. When she first started at Morgan, Noreen had lots of questions. As a "seasoned" teacher, I remember helping her out, giving her suggestions, and letting her know that I was more than happy to offer assistance. I was so impressed with her desire to be the best teacher she could be. Noreen was a kind and beautiful person. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

There is not a time where I can remember not knowing Noreen. When we were little, she was the older girl that lived across the street. But as we got older and our age difference did not seem to matter so much, I got to know Noreen and work with her. Noreen had the special gift to make those around her feel good, I know she did that for me. Noreen will live on in my heart and my heart goes out to all that loved her. You will be forever in my thoughts and prayers.

Love,

Melba Wilkins

Noreen was a good one at the meetings, endearingly honest and humble, intelligent and supportive. I'm shocked and angered that her life was taken from her, now, though these feelings won't last as long as the grief. We'll always have the joy she inspired.
