Noel Washington Sr. Obituary

Noel Joseph Washington Sr., a retired Merchant Seaman for Lyke Brother Marine Company, died at his residence on Thursday, July 20, 2000. Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, July 26, 2000, 9 a.m. until time of services at 12:30 p.m., at Tharp-Sontheimer-Laudumiey Funeral Home, 5001 Chef Menteur Highway (at Congress Street), New Orleans. Services will be officiated by Dr. Climon J. Smith. Relatives and friends of the family; friends of the Orleans Parish School Board, Orleans Parish Civil Sheriff's Office, Charity Hospital, National Maritime Union, and Seafarers Union; and pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star and Second Morning Star Baptist Church, St. Paul Lutheran Church, and Shiloh Baptist Church are invited to attend services. A traditional jazz funeral will assemble at Florida Boulevard and Desire Street following the funeral ceremony. Interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery.
