Klein, Nina H.

Nina H. Klein, 88 years old of Chicago, IL, passed away Tuesday April 26, 2022. She was born in Madison, Wisconsin to Lawrence and Frances Meicher. Nina led an active life, working for years as a journalist, as a seamstress, as an office manager, and was tireless and forever giving in her volunteer work, in addition to raising a family of five children. She contributed greatly to her church Saint Veronica's, and to Austin Special Chicago where she was recognized with a lifetime achievement award for her work in fundraising and support of the organization. She was an avid lapidary, and she loved cutting and polishing gems and produced many pieces of jewelry throughout her life. Nina is the widow of William Klein. She is survived by her children David (wife Kathy), Anita, Michelle (husband Michael), and Tony (wife Itnuit), and her grandchildren Karen (husband Ed), Nick, Sebastian, and Rex. She was preceded in death by her daughter Lori, her brother Larry, and her sister Pat. Visitation Thursday, April 28, 2022 from 3:00 - 9:00 p.m. at COLONIAL-WOJCIECHOWSKI FUNERAL HOME 6250 N. Milwaukee Ave. Chicago. Funeral services Friday, April 29, starting with prayers at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, proceeding to St. Elizabeth of the Trinity Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass.
