Nicholas Melas Obituary

A sad farewell to a very nice man. Having known him for some thirty years I can attest to that fact. May his memory be eternal.

I am so sorry to learn of Nick's passing. Our family was very proud of him. He helped our family during some difficult times, and for that I'm sure God will bless his soul. I knew Nick from the time I was a little boy, and always admired him. I just wish I could have been closer with him and got to know him better. May he rest in peace. And to you, Nick, 'Hope to see you on the the other side'.

I just heard of Nick's passing, please accept my belated condolences. He was a good man that will be sorely missed by all who knew him. We grew up together and we watched him rise to his latest positions. Never leaving his roots behind. A very GOOD man to all!!

Honorable...Gentleman...Hero...Friend! He served his Country with Honor...He served his City & State with Honor! He exemplified the best of his Greek Heritage...Plato would have been proud of him! It was a privilege to have known him for over 60 years as a friend and Fraternity Brother!

To the Family of Nick Melas. I was saddened to hear of Nick's recent falling asleep in the Lord. Nick was truly a leader in our community and a well respected public official. His contributions to the Water Reclamation District, Pollution Control Board and State of Illinois were many. I was fortunate to have known and worked with him for many years. He will be missed by all. May he rest in peace and may his memory be forever eternal.

I remember that Nick was an enthusiastic supporter of the Blood Drive at the VA hospital every year.
A great guy.

Nick was a great public servant and human being. Our time serving on the Pollution Control Board and since was a joy and rewarding. He always approached all with kindness and interest, a real old world gentleman and a true Chicago School Humanist. Mike
