When I heard the news, I could not believe it. All I have to say is thank you. Thank you for helping me spiritually and mentally. Before I met Nelson, I had no faith at all. He opened my eyes. Meeting Nelson was one of the many blessings in my life. He will be missed.

Nelson was a community leader with a vision to educate priests and practitioners in the funeral rites and other significant rituals that Olorishas need to know. He was the most organized and generous priest in our community. He was my friend and brother, and I will miss and cherish him always.

It is in the adversity that we find our true friends.
Friendship is evident in the number of offers we have to share in our sorrow.
It is in the sorrows of our heart, where we find comfort from those who care about us.
Those who care for us are also recipients of our devotion and kindness.
If I am friendless it is because I have not shown friendship.
If I am not loved it is because I have not exhibited love.
I weep with you in the loss of your beloved.
Accept these condolences to the entire family and know that someone mourns with you. “Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning” And when the time comes and you are able to laugh I will laugh with you.
Peace and Blessings to all!

In addition to the beautiful Obituary that has already been written, I would like to add that Nelson was a gentle soul. He was intelligent, sensitive and above all a loving person. He will never be forgotten by me and countless others for whom he was a Godfather; a spiritual leader and guide.

When I woke up this morning it dawned on me that I cannot call you today. I will not be able to hear your voice. I cannot confide in you my inner most thoughts. But then I remembered happier times, when we had many laughs. As I go through this and all the days to come. I will treasure the golden moments that are hidden in a trove to be cherished. We are extensions of the Earth and family of God. When one makes a transition from body to spirit, we remain forever connected by Love, the Universal language that crosses all barriers in this life and in the hereafter. You will be forever in my heart. Jacqueline Cruz & Edward Roman
