Narciso Soberano Obituary

Soberano Jr., Dr. Narciso Alvior, M.D. Age 79, passed away on March 18, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Emma (nee Sartaguda), loving father of Paul (Vicky) and Daniel (Sheryl) Soberano and Lucia (James) Stefo Jr., cherished grandfather of Madelynn, James III, Isabella and Matthew, dear brother of Claro (Editha) Soberano and Marian (Jose) Yan, fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. He was born in lloilo City, Philippines and received his Medical Degree in 1959 from Santo Tomas University, Manila, Philippines. In 1960, he came to the United States under the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates and completed his residency at Columbus, Mercy and Michael Reese Hospitals in Chicago. In 1968, he became an attending physician at Holy Cross Hospital in Chicago. In 1973, he received his Diplomate in Internal Medicine and became a naturalized American citizen in 1976. A Third Degree member St. Fabian Knights of Columbus, member of Centering Prayer & Bible Study Group, served as a Minister of Care - Narciso was a Good and Faithfull Servant. Funeral services 9:30 a.m. Saturday from Hann Funeral Home, 8230 S. Harlem, Bridgeview to St. Fabian Church for 10:00 a.m. Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
