Ten years haven't dimmed my fond memories of Nanvy. She was a loving, perceptive lady.

I too knew Nancy mostly from the South Branch, where she helped nurture my (then)children's interest in books. In later years I would encounter her walking or at the Jewel and she would never fail to stop and inquire about the kids. A lovely, unique woman and am already missing seeing her around town.
My prayers will be for her family in this time of sadness.

We extend our sincere sympathies to Nancy's family and her many friends. We knew Nancy through both her work as a librarian and at Secret Treasures as well as at St. Nick's, especially during rummage sale time. She was so kind to my now-adult kids, Karla and Evan, the latter of whom worked with her when he volunteered one summer at the South Branch Library and at Secret Treasures as a shop assistant. The Nancy we knew was a truly religious woman who set a great example as to how to go about getting older with grace. Her sunny presence is a loss to the many, many people who considered her a friend.

We loved seeing Nancy walking in the neighborhood, where she always stopped to talk, and expressed a genuine interest in our children. We also loved seeing her at South Branch, where we were regulars when Claire and Marty were younger. Her warmth, wit, and candor made her such a special person, and one who will always have a special spot in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with Nancy's family and friends.

I loved working with Nancy at the South Branch. I'm sure she's in heaven getting all the books, especially the children's, in order.
I shall remember her always.

Mrs. Spellman took many kids underneath her wings. I will always remember walks in the park with her while looking for pennies.

We were blessed to know Nancy and call her friend.
She welcomed us to the neighborhood in 1971 and has been a treasure ever since. Nancy shared grace and wisdom. She was always encouraging and we will miss her forever while holding her memory in our hearts. Nancy is a gift to the world.

Come walk a little way with me
Your time-worn hand in mine,
and love and laugh as long ago,
no heed to passing time.
But time has passed and life has gone,
at least the life we know,
The Lord awaits you at the gate,
Our Lord who loves you so.
