Nancy was just a wild and crazy girl, always laughing, and caring. She was a social butterfly. Nancy was the one who arranged the wonderous breakfasts in the Juarez lunchroom. She loved good gossip and most of all loved teaching French. She loved colorful clothing and designed much of her outfits. Nancy truly had a joie de vivre. Adieu - Peggy

Nancy was always full of joy, and I enjoyed working with her at Juarez High School. I am saddened by her passing. Please accept my sympathy.

Dear Loved Ones of Nancy,
My thoughts, prayers, sympathy, and good wishes go out to all of Nancy's family and the many friends who will miss her so much. The surprising news of Nancy's passing came to me in a phone call from a dear longtime mutual friend on New Years Eve. I am so sorry that I did not get to see or speak to Nancy for quite a while, and that I did not know that she was so ill. I regret not being able to join together with family and friends; to be there for you, to say goodbye, and to celebrate her life at the services last week. Please let me know if there will be any gatherings or memorials for her in the future.
Nancy was an unforgettable bundle of charm, warmth, fun, and inspiration. Knowing her increased my faith, helped me to be a better teacher, and sustained my love of the French language and culture that we both came to love back at Evergreen Park High School. I will remember her laugh, her smile, and the merry way she said the crazy nickname she gave me. She called me "Laurabelles", or sometimes just "Belles" (with her lilting French accent); often softening a serious moment! I can still see how pretty Nancy looked in her yellow bridesmaid dress and hat, as she posed with a basket of wildflowers on my wedding day. Another year, a day after my son's birthday, she was a breathtakingly beautiful bride at her own picture perfect outdoor wedding. Years later, on a mirth-filled Wednesday night, we "closed down" a Baker's Square restaurant -- reminiscing with friends about our lives. Nancy will always live on in my heart and memories.
I am inspired and challenged by my dear friend to love my family and friends as deeply and passionately as she did hers. Many stories and happy times with them were recounted each time we were together. Nancy's other family was her many cherished students to whom she delighted in teaching her beloved French and English; as well as sharing with them the joy of living life to the fullest and embracing beauty wherever she found it.
The world is a better place because God put her in it. I am grateful to Him for allowing me to have had so sweet a friend.
Love, Laura (belles)

I remember some great times in Bolingbrook with Nancy and Chuck. Their wedding was spectacular, they always cooked great meals, the sauna Chuck built and Nancy's laugh always made me happy. My prayers are with her family and husband.

Our sympathy to Joyce, Clyde and family. We remember Nancy as a little girl walking to school. Nancy is now at peace.
