Myrtle Theis Obituary

Theis, Myrtle Gorski (nee Richert), age 93, was born into her eternal life on January 29, 2005. She was the loving wife of Raymond K. Theis and the late George F. Gorski, devoted mother of Michael R. (Dorothy) Gorski and the late George F. (Regina) Gorski, wonderful grandmother of Eric (Amber), Lisa (Michael) Fraizer, Michael G. Gorski, Renee (Eric) Morgan and Marcyrene (fiance Christopher Harrington) Gorski, step-mother of Marie Theis, great-grandmother of Matthew, Michael and Madison Fraizer and Abigail Clare Morgan, dear sister of James (the late Eileen) Richert, the late Frances (Walter) Okon, Nell (Al) Strzoda, Anna, Clara, Delphine and Genevieve Richert, fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Myrtle Richert's family lived in the Mayfair Community and she graduated from St. Constance School. After completing high school, she married George Gorski, and they had two sons. George died from Cancer in 1953, and Myrtle became owner of the Wishing Well Restaurant on Elston Avenue until she married Raymond K. Theis, retired owner of Theis-Gorski Funeral Home. For many years they were parishioners of St. Viator Church. Myrtle and Ray moved to Ft. Lauderdale about 25 years ago and Myrtle shared her home and talents with her family and many friends in the Breakwater Surf Club and St. Sebastian Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will celebrate her life at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, at St. Viator Church, 4170 W. Addison, Chicago, IL. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove, IL. Visitation on Friday, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Viator Church would be preferred. 773-736-3833
