Morton Gerstein Obituary

Gerstein, Morton age 95, beloved husband of Myrtle White Gerstein (nee Doller) and the late Diana (nee Katz), loving father of Norman (Cynthia), Shayle (Marilyn), Honey (Sherwin) Shapiro, Sherwin, Richard (Susan) White and the late Barbara White Domsky. He was blessed with 15 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren, cherished brother of the late Bertha Feld, the late Harold, the late Frank and the late Samuel Gerstein. Past President and benefactor of Congregation B'nai Zion and Philanthropist of many charities including Technion and Hadassah. Funeral Wednesday, 1 p.m., at The Weinstein Family Services Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette, (1 blk. North of Old Orchard). Interment Jewish Waldheim, Forest Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Shaare Tikvah B'nai Zion, 5800 N. Kimball, Chicago, 60659 or Magen David Adom, 8930 Gross Point Rd., Ste. 800, Skokie, 60077. Our Zayde was an inspiration to his grandchildren and great-granchildren. We will always remember his strength, determination and love for his family. We take pride in the wonderful heritage he has provided each of us and will do our best to "keep the family tree growing...and keep it beautiful!"
