I went to Bryant grammar school with Mort & we worked on Maxwell Street-he sold jeans & I dole nylon stockings & cotton socks.
Mort was a lot of fun & also a real gentleman.
We played a lot of 16" softball which he really enjoyed.
It´s hard to believe that he passed away so many years ago.
I read a statement that is very meaningful, "one never dies if they are remembered."
May Mort´s memory be a blessing.

Chuck and Marc,
I am so sad to read of your Dad's passing. I only met him a few times but I will treasure those memories along with my personalized "rock by Mort" paperweight. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time. It's always hard losing a parent but cherish the good times and memories.

Dear Nechtman Family....I was so sorry to read about the loss of your Beloved Mort.
I attended Bryant Elementary School with Mort. He was always the polite gentleman with a smile on his face.
May you know of no more sorrow.

I was friends with Morty from Bryant Grammar School & the old west side of Chicago-we had a great group of boys & girls that still meet today. Sybil kept us posted on Morty over the years-last saw him at a Great Vest Side Dinner some years ago-our thoughts & prayers are with his family-may your thoughts & memories of Morty help you during this difficult time.

Mort had a fun, caring personality. He loved and enjoyed the tomatoes my husband would bring from Michigan. He took pleasure in sharing some of the vegetables he grew in the back yard of their home. However, when he and Alva attended our anniversary party, he volunteered to help with photography efforts. This fun participation allowed my daughter, the designated photographer, to get in some of the photos. The surprise birthday party he pulled together for Alva set the bar high for the rest of her lady friends. It was such fun. Thank you Mort, for being the giving person you were. My sincere condolences to you, Alva, and the entire family. Thank you for sharing the highlights of the family with me over the years.
