Mitchell Weisner Obituary

Weisner, Mitchell

Mitchell Weisner, age 92, of Chicago, Founder and President of Design Galleries, provided architectural and commercial lighting for builders and interior designers since 1957; he honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict; beloved husband, best friend, soulmate of Roberta "Bobbi", nee Brotman, they truly were a storybook couple; loving father of Jami Brenner, Lisa (Steven) Kaufman, and Carri (late Todd Feldman) Goodman; adored Papa of Eric Kaufman, Zachary (Jessica) Kaufman, Joey Goodman, Stevi (fiancé Ryan Farrar) Goodman, and Jordan Brenner; devoted son of the late Albert and the late Dena Weisner; cherished son-in-law of the late Oscar and the late Esther Brotman; dear brother-in-law of Barbara (Larry) Cohn; treasured uncle of Jodi (Keith) Zobott, Laura (Scott) Kaufman, and Debbie (Gregg) Stern and their children. Mitch was one of a kind; he was the most affectionate, sweetest, and kindest person. He lit up the lives of everyone who knew him, with his expressive smile and caring nature. Mitch was an accomplished tennis player and Chicago sports enthusiast, but his family gave him the most amount of joy. He will be so dearly missed. The service and shiva will be private. The service will be livestreamed Tuesday, 12 Noon CST at www.goldmanfuneralgroup.com. Under Recent Services, click onto Mitch's photograph and scroll down to Service Details to view the service. I have so many fond memories of your husband, father and grandfather. Every single time I saw him he made me feel as though I were the most important person in the room. I know how hard this time is and I hope the wonderful memories you have of him bring you some comfort. I also hope he is with my dad and they are having a great game of tennis! Thinking of you.

Just met Roberta and Mitch this year. We should be so lucky to find the kind of love they have for each other. Glad to have met him.

I cannot tell you how sorry I was to hear about your dad. I was saddened and shocked by the news. Please extend my sympathy to your mom and the rest of the family. May you find comfort to know your grief is shared by all who knew your dad. We was a wonderful man and will be sorely missed.

It was always a joy to see Mitch with his beautiful smile and warm heart. Mitch's deep and lasting love for his Shayna, his beautiful Roberta, was astounding to behold, as is hers for him. The joy and love of family he carried for his daughters, son-in-laws, and all his grandchildren; as well as his sister-in-law and brother in law and all his nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, was always apparent as was their love back for him. Mitch was always smiling and laughing. He was loved by all and we know how badly he will be missed. Our hearts go out to Roberta and the family. May memories keep you comforted. We send our love, Sandi and Mark
