Dear Joan:
How saddened we are to receive the shocking news of your loss. Having been together not all that long ago for a meeting of the Commentary group in your home, this was not what we expected to hear. Please accept our most sincere condolences. Bud will certainly be missed.

We are shocked and saddened to hear about Bud. We were just talking about him last night at Famous Dave's restaurant in Hayward with friends and telling them how he went nuts for the wild rice soup and catfish fingers when you were here last summer. He had them for dinner, went back for more at lunch the next day, and again for dinner that night! Now that's a guy that knows what he wants and goes all out for it. We will miss him, and send our love and condolences.

As a former school classmate and friend of Stan's, I want to extend my personal condolences to the entire Towne family. My parents, Mike and Joan Weinberg, are out of state this week, and will not return until Friday night. If they were here, nothing would prevent them from attending Bud's memorial service, and you can be assured that all of you are in their thoughts and prayers.
