Michael Vlamis Obituary

Please accept my deepest condolences for the passing of dear Michael. He was my cousin and I have many fond memories of him when my family would visit Chicago. We exchanged many an email together and also phone calls. I will miss him.

Dear Michael and Denise and family, Stevie,and the entire Vlamis/Zorich family,
I was deeply saddened to hear of your +Dad's passing. His smile and warmth were a constant and all who knew him were fortunate to have had him as their friend. When I heard of his passing I immediately went back to Sundays in our church on Commercial and seeing him every week,sitting with Nick Kolember in the same pew. It was a comforting memory that reminded me how much people like your +dad meant to all of us who grew up in the parish. Be comforted by the fact that he was loved by so many and that he left a positive impact on all that he met. Sending my love to all of you.

Mike and Steve: I am sad for you but happy for your dad. I have two themes for funerals: 'together again' and 'homegoing'. Your dad is with your mom, something he has wanted since the day Vera died. They trully were part of the love story of Jesus, the greatest story ever told. How lucky you were to have them as your parents and guides. How lucky we all were to have them in our lives.If I was celebrating Mike's life I would start ourt with an old Irish saying" "Be sure to lead a good life so the priest doesn't have to lie at your funeral."
