I lived next door to Mike at John Stone Friary when we were both in formation. One summer he decided that he wanted to learn to play the violin. That was the longest summer of my life.
Rest in peace, Mike.

Fr. Mike was one of the most influential people within my life. He taught me many lesson in middle school at Cascia Hall and continued to teach many more through out the years. While my parents were divorcing, he spent many hours sitting with me, along with both my parents, attempting to help all of us understand what was really going on. He continued to be even more supportive when my father passed away a few years later forcing me to no longer be able to attend the school. He would often call to check on my mother and I. I lost most contact with him after moving to Florida, where I was able to graduate from St Petersburg Catholic, except for the few visits back to Tulsa. I shared many of his lessons with the other students there and am now passing on with my children. He will be greatly missed by myself and my family. Rest in peace!

Fr.Mike was a dear friend of our family. We got to know him when he came to our parish of St.Gregory's in Cambridge, Ontario, Canada. We had the pleasure of hosting him at our home for at least three Christmas dinners and these were very special to my whole family.
To show the depth of our friendship, he drove all the way from Tulsa Oklahoma to attend our daughter, Katey's wedding in August of 2000. He drove back to Tulsa the following day. What an incredible compliment that was to my daughter and my whole family. He will forever be remembered in our prayers.
Rest in peace, Fr. Mike, you have truly earned your place in heaven.

Eternal rest grand to him. He was a force for good in all of New Lenox and we shall miss his presence and his witness to the Kingdom of God.

My family has fond memories of the times we spent with Father Mike. He was so up-beat and positive to be around. The Lord truly blessed him with a caring heart and we were blessed to know him. He continued to share emails through the years, and they always lifted my spirits as he never complained about anything. I am sorry I was unable to attend his 25th anniversary this summer. May his joy be showering heaven.

I remember Mike from High School days as kind, funny, fun to be with; an all around good sport and down to earth kind of guy. Mike had great sense of humor, which is characteristic of most every Augustinian I've known. I have to smile when I just imagine how the Holy Spirit must have worked through Mike's characteristics and personality in his priesthood to touch and challenge many hearts, and the glad welcome he is enjoying up yonder. ....Stan Coe, D.O. Father Mike was always so positive and full of joy. Heaven will be an even more blessed place. My family thought a lot of Mike and he was a very good priest.

God rest his soul! I was in high school with Mike, one year ahead of him at St. Augustine's Seminary High School. He was a gentle and caring soul. I saw him last year at the diocesan chrism mass and told him that I was praying for him. May God reward him for his holy efforts on our behalf! Rev. Thomas Becket Franks, O.S.B., class of 1972.

Father Mike was a friend of my wife Lynne and her cousin Mark since Mark's days at St Rita's High School. Father Mike married Lynne and I in 1990. He helped make it a very special day for us. Mark, Lynne, and I recently attended Father Mike's 25th anniversary of priesthood mass at St Jude Parish. The mass was full of parishioners and friends. I enjoyed the music and experiencing his wonderful homily, witnessing the joy and reverence he brought to prayer and worship. Our deepest condolences and sympathies to his Augustian brothers, the St Jude parishioners, family and friends. May God bring you to the joy of His everlasting salvation.

As his high school classmate, Mike always brought a smile to our faces as we grew up together in the seminary. While I left the seminary, Mike continue to fulfill his life of touching and helping others through the Augustinian life. He cherished the life he had and enjoyed giving to others and offering words of encouragement. I thank Mike for being a friend and part of my life, and will always remember his smile and laugh. My deepest sympathy and condolences to his family.
