Dear Rodgers Family,
I was stunned and sorrowed to hear of Mickey's death.
Every fond memory of growing up with Mickey and Charlie is as vivid today as it was in real time and will always remain so.

I knew Mike when we worked together in the 18th Police District. I will always remember his loyalty to his fellow officers. We had some great times. He was a person you liked to call your friend. Mike you will be missed.

To my family,
I am so devestated to hear about the loss of my uncle Mickey. Residing in Ireland makes it quite difficult to grasp the reality. As a child I always adored uncle Mickey. He was the "cool" uncle. He had a contageous smile and laugh that he was blessed with. He has impacted each and every one of our lives. He is a prime example how a man should be dedicated to his family. Barry and I will miss him dearly, and wish we could be with the whole family at a sensitive time such as this. Audrey, Melinda, and Mikey, you have been in our daily thoughts and prayers. We love you and mourn this great loss.

To The Rodgers Family and the Phee family,
I'm sorry at the loss of your dear Mickey. I remember him at picnics & family functions and he was always fun and very warm and had good stories to tell. My dad, Charlie Rodgers, always enjoyed his cousin and loved being together at family gatherings. I am in prayer for all of you and for Mickey, who has found peace.
In Love,

Dear Audrey, Mike and Mylinda,
Our hearts and prayers are with you today! Uncle Mike was a great God-Father, Uncle and Brother-In-Law to us! There are so many wonderful memories we will keep in our hearts of Mike...His love of his Irish heritage, His love of sports, His many computer and home fiascos, How smitten he was when he walked Mylinda down the isle at her wedding, How big his heart grew when Mikie was born...but mostly what a great Father and husband he was to all of you. We thank God he is part of our family and will never, ever forget him. With all our love!

To the Rodgers family:
I worked with Mike for many years in Area 3. As tough as some days could get, it was always a pleasure to see his smile and talk to Mike. He will be missed but never forgotten. God bless Mike!

To the Rodgers/Phee families,
"Uncle Mikey" as he was called by many was a role model and mentor for me as I worked my way into the real world with the Hilton Corporation. Mike would always give me the right advice of how to deal with situations. He was also a very good friend. He will be missed and most of all I will miss his smile that he often shed upon us. My love goes out to all of his family and may God Bless all of you.

I am so sorry for you and your family to lose such a wonderful person. He'll be missed by so many people who'll remember the smile that was always on his face. I wish I could take away the pain you feel, to make things alright again. You know I'm here whenever you need me--just wish I could be near and do more. My prayers are with you. Love, Carol

To the Rodgers Family, we are so sorry to hear the news of Mike's passing. He was the best neighbor any one could ever have. Audrey, we know Mike spent more time talking to us over the fence then he did his daily chores, but we cherished every minute and beer. Murphy has not been the same since we moved away from his buddy. We will miss our buddy as well.

I'm sorry Audrey, that Mike got sick and for what you and your family had to go through. I hope that if not now, later, you'll at least be able to appreciate what you did have. Sue

To the Rodgers Family,
We have all lost a wonderful person, and you have our heartfelt condolences. Mike and I worked in the 018th District together, very early in our police careers, and then again at Area Three. Mike was always a dedicated family man, placing his family above the day to day trials. The City of Chicago lost a truly professional Police Officer when he retired, and his absence will be felt by many. Mike always had a wonderful sense of humor, and never forgot anyone. Frienships meant a lot to Mike, and is true to this day, with the many friends that he has. Mike will be missed, but never forgotten. Mike will continue to keep a watchful eye over his family and friends, and will never be far away.
