Michael McGuire Obituary
Michael A. McGuire, of Hinsdale, 77; preceded in death by his wife Frae McGuire, née Fallert and son Matthew McGuire. Michael is survived by his daughter Reagan M. (Eric) Pittman; partner Deborah Davis; and many loving friends and family members, including his brothers Martin (Georgeanne) McGuire and David (Rose) McGuire, and his sisters Margaret (the late James) Burns, Kathleen (Larry) Byrd, and Agnes (Scott) Radtke, and nieces and nephews. Michael was the highly respected long-time owner of Supreme Jewelers in Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. In 2010, Supreme Jewelers was recognized as Business of the Year and Michael was given the "keys" to Hyde Park by the Chamber of Commerce. Michael retired and closed the store in 2016. Memorial Visitation Sunday, July 24 th , 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Sullivan Funeral Home, 60 S. My condolences to Mike's family. Both of my children workroom for Supreme Jewelers when they were in high school. They had a lovely experience and my son would visit Mike whenever he came home. He was such an asset to our community. We miss him.

Michael has been a part of our lives on Canterbury Court for 16 years. We have all enjoyed his anecdotes and his smiles as we meet by the mailboxes or the front yard. Jen, in particular, loved sharing his love of reading/writing and will cherish the books he gifted her. A wonderful neighbor, a wonderful man. Our thoughts and prayers and with Deborah and his entire family.

So sorry for Mike´s family and friends to hear of his passing. It´s wonderful to read all the entries that mention his trustworthiness and caring which is so hard to find with a jeweler and neighborhood business. People are busy and skeptical which makes enduring friendships hard. But Mike was a true friend! He was missed when the business closed and he will be missed even more now. Blessings to the family and family of friends. So happy to still have some pieces he picked out for me!

We so enjoyed Michael for many years up until the day the store closed, and we missed him and his store. Wedding rings, anniversary gifts, birthday presents and more, we could always find those special gifts at Supreme Jewelers. Michael was a wonderful member of our community and a good friend too.
