What can I say about our Uncle Mick. A man of few words, but when he spoke, you better be listening because you knew it was some profound comment we needed to hear at that moment.
Breda, Teresa, Phil, Mike, Col and Jim - we are truly sorry your husband and dad has passed. We will all truly miss him.

I met Michael in 1986 when my first wife and I moved into the second-floor apartment of a two-story white frame house on Second Street in Elmhurst run by Mary Welsh. Mrs. Welsh didn't mention to us that Mike had a small apartment downstairs, so when mail came to our mailbox addressed to him, we sent it back to the Post Office, figuring it was for the previous tenant. That was an embarrassing element of meeting Mike for the first time---but he didn't seem bothered---and remains in my memory a quiet, courteous, good-natured guy---the kind of person most people would appreciate having as a neighbor. I've not seen Mike in nearly 20 years---but hope that his road continued smoothly---and that his sleep is now sweet.
