Its been 19 years ago today you were here for my birthday. You were leaving to go to work on the midnight shift and I said be careful out there and you gave me your usual answer, "Always." Three days later you were killed. You have not been forgotten. Love, Dad

It will be 16 years on the 8th. Think of you every day. I would have traded places with you in a New York minute if I could so that you could have been here to raise your children. So unfair. Please keep watch over your children. Love and miss you every day.

When I heard the news of your death it made me realize we are a long way from the days of Martino's, the Hobby Shop, and sneaking cigs in the alley. We went from grade school sweethearts to adults overnight. Along the way we saw eachother from time to time and never skipped a beat to make fun of the eachother. I am sorry I never got to tell you how proud I was of you. You were a great Dad, Son, Brother and from what I have read a really great police officer. I first met Michael when we worked together at Brookfield Zoo. At first, I thought he was a goofball and then I soon realized he WAS a goofball. He was always ready with a smile and ready to make you laugh right along with him. I have not met anyone like him since and doubt I will.

In my early 20's I became a casual friend of Bob's, who has the same wonderful personality. Imagine my suprise when while Michael was in on leave from the military and I met up with both of them through a mutual friend!! It was one of best times I'd had in a while and an evening that was one of my fondest moments even before this tragedy.

Michael's passing was a suprise to me as the last time as that was the last time I saw him. It brings me great sorrow to know that I will not have another oppurtunity for a chance meeting to share your smile and feel your warmth again.

You will be greatly missed by those you touched.
