working with Mike in the plumbing and sewer trade. He was always a
happy and joyous man to be around in the 70's at Birk Plumbing Co. in Evergreen Park, Il., He invited me his home to meet his family.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of my 2nd cousin, Mike. My wife and I send our deepest condolences to Elizabeth and the entire Flatley family. Going way back to the late 1940's to the early1950's, I remember him arriving from Ireland and living in Peabody, Massachusetts. It was at James Henry's house, who was his uncle and sponsor. The house was on 20 Lynn Street and we lived down at 29 Lynn Street. We enjoyed him visiting us, playing ball, and fishing at the local pond. After so many years not seeing him, I called Mike in 1994 while working on a project for Detroit Edison. Michael, immediately invited me to his house and I stayed the weekend reminiscing about old times and our families. He was so proud of his family and all that they accomplished. Michael was one of the greatest Irishman I have known for over 50 years and had many wonderful times with him. I could go on and on with some of these times and I will miss Mike greatly.
We are in Florida and sorry that we can't attend the wake this Wednesday (03/18/15).
RIP Michael and God Bless you.
