Evans, Michael Jonathan age 36, after a brave battle with colon cancer. Beloved husband of BethAnne Jacob, adoring father of Elijah Miller Evans, cherished son of Dr. Richard and Roberta, devoted brother of Elizabeth (Peter Glick) Evans and Susan (Michael Boxerman) Evans, caring uncle of Benjamin and Natalie Glick, Jacob Boxerman, Jackson and Zoe Day, also survived by many loving relatives and friends. Services Friday, July 9, 2004, 9:30 a.m., at Congregation Rodfei Zedek, 5200 Hyde Park Blvd., Chicago. Interment Rosehill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael's name may be made to Akiba-Schechter Jewish Day School, 5235 S. Cornell Ave., Chicago, IL 60615. To All of Michael's Family and Friends:
I am shocked and saddened to hear of Michael's passing, especially so long after the fact. I hope you can all find some solace in the knowledge that all of our lives are better for having known him, albeit for too short a time.
For those of us of his generation, his death comes as a special shock and poignant reminder of life's fleeting blessing.
To Richard, Sissy, Lizzie and Susie, I hope you will ask for me next time you are at the Medici. To Beth Anne and Elijah, I extend the same offer, eventhough we have never had the pleasure of meeting under happier circumstances. Sincerely,

To Beth Anne, Elijah, and all Michael's family & friends, reading of Michael's passing makes me very sad. He wrote me such a sympathetic e-mail almost exactly a year ago. Ever since my friend (and Michael's cousin) Rob told me about Michael's diagnosis, Michael's name has been on my lips in prayer. Though I never knew him, he became a part of my life, and the news of his passing saddened me deeply. My prayers shall now be that his family be comforted and inspired by his memory.
