To Tom, Sharon and the entire Bruno family, my sincerest condolences for your loss. My only memory of Michael is a a baby -- cute, smiling and so easily entertained by his older siblings and twin sister. It sounds like he turned into a truly exceptional young man. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Michael was a person who touched so many people with his humor and loud personality. To me, Michael was just another brother, he loved to come into our house and relentlessly tease me and oh how he would laugh at my reactions. However, he was also one to come over and help me out with computer stuff, even building one for me. Some of my fondest memories are of Michael coming over to the Mruz house with his guitar and belt out Dave Matthews's tunes or enjoying games of wiffle ball, sometimes even letting me play!! It was a true joy to be around Michael, truly, some of my greatest childhood memories were hanging around my brother and Michael Bruno. I will miss you Bruno, you will forever be remembered by us all!

I remember my lifetime of visits to my sister Barbara's home in Inverness. Mike had a gift to make those around him happier. He would walk into her kitchen, give us a robust greeting, warm bear hugs and then would make us laugh and laugh and laugh.
Mike was an exceptional man who touched everyone ; all who came across his path were blessed to know him.
I know my family was.....

Mike was one of the first guys I met freshman year at Marquette, and we spent a lot of time together in groups over the next 4yrs. I recall road trips to Chicago with Mike, and will never forget his charm, and his special Bruno wit and silliness. I'm so very sad for his family who is left to carry on without him. I've been thinking about you quite a bit since I heard the awful news...rest in peace, old friend.

"During all their distress it was distressing to him...In his love and compassion...he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old." (Isaiah 63:9) Please know that our Heavenly Father knows the pain you feel and promises to carry you through this distressing time.

I will never forget the time I found our "boys" up in the middle of the night, making sandwiches for themselves because how could they make it through the night without eating! I will remember Mike's visits to our home, and his great smile and kindness. A truly gentle man and a credit to his family. My sincere condolences to you, Sharon and Tom, and to all of the Bruno children. My heart breaks for all of you.

I still cannot believe it. My son told me the sad news yesterday afternoon. I was lucky enough to have taken classes with Mike at Roosevelt University, including our student teaching seminar.
He was someone who belonged teaching. He was firm but kind and loved what he did. He always had a kind word and lit up a room upon entering.
My son was a student struggling at South Elgin High when Mike started student teaching there. He made sure to let my son know that he was keeping an eye on him.
We also talked a lot about the children in our lives. His favorite things to talk about were his nieces and nephews. My heart breaks for his family. The world as a whole has suffered a terrible loss.
See you on the other side, Bruno. You are missed.
